About EFIS

EFIS (European Federation of Immunological Societies) is an umbrella organization that represents more than 12,000 individual members from 29 member societies in 31 European countries (all European Union member states and all other European states) and reaches beyond the European boundaries to Israel.

The main goals of EFIS are the support of immunological research and education as well as strengthening scientific interaction amongst its members, with:

Supporting young scientists, e.g. through fellowships or travel grants.
Supporting congresses and conferences in Europe.
Promoting Immunology to the general public through the Day of Immunology, and other activities: check out the interactive exhibition www.inside-immunity.org or the interactive book www.interactive-immunity.org

EFIS has a Board composed of the President, the Vice President, the Past President, the Treasurer and the Secretary General. The Board meets about three times a year. Board Members are elected by the EFIS General Assembly, composed of delegates of national societies (each society is entitled to have one delegate per 500 members), and they are appointed for a period of three years.
